Gurobi site license
Gurobi is an optimization framework for (mixed) linear and quadratic programs with a non-free license. The company provides 1-year site licenses to academic institutions, when they install a license server to provide access tokens. The requirements are as follows:
A multi-user academic site license lets you run Gurobi Optimizer anywhere on the campus network of a qualified academic institution. The license also enables distributed algorithms. A network administrator must install and configure the Gurobi token server (
grb_ts), which serves license tokens to any computer on the network. You must be a system administrator for the computer that will run the token server.
Additionally, they need the following information
- A copy of your academic/staff ID with current period/expiration date visible, or
- A link to your staff/research/faculty profile on your institution’s website.
- Academic email address to connect to license (must be registered on gurobi.com):

- Academic institution:
- Institution website:
- Department name:
- Department website:
- Hostname of license server:
- What the license will be used for:
- Class professor name (if applicable):
- Expected number of users:
and add the following disclaimer:
By moving forward with this process, you attest that (1) you are a system administrator for the license server named above; (2) your academic institution is eligible to receive a free academic site license; (3) the license will only be used for academic purposes by faculty, staff, and students at the academic institution named above; (4) only computers on the university network can access the license server named above; and (5) you understand that the license will expire one year after the date it is generated.
We should be able to fulfill those requirements, only the staff ID doesn't have a sensible validity date (2099) and we haven't configured a staff webpage yet.
